Body Shop: Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder Mini Review

 Hello my lovlies!
Today I have for you a little review of the Body Shop honey bronze bronzing powder in Light Matte.
First off, the packaging; it's plastic but does feel heavy duty and sturdy. The pattern embossed into the product is super cute, and looks like honeycomb :)
The mirror is a generous size too!

Being rather fair skinned, it can be quite difficult to find a bronzer that doesn't make you look dirty! I used the Sleek contour kit for a good while, but after a while I felt it was too dark. This one is very light and not orange based, it looks very natural, and has no shimmer, which is great for contour! You can build it up nicely too.

Pros
-Sturdy packaging
-Good sized mirror
-Looks natural
-There's 4 shades to choose from
-Not shimmery, good for contour
-great amount of product! 11.5g

Cons
-Price.. Costs £13, which despite it being a nice product, I think that that's a little steep. (I bought it with a 30% off code ;) )

So, overall, I think I would buy this again, as there is nearly always an offer code for Body Shop!
I will post a picture of me wearing it at some point in the future!

Until next time!
xoxo.

L'Oreal: Eversleek Shampoo & Conditioner Review

L'Oreal_Eversleek_Shampoo_Conditioner

Hello my lovlies! Today I have for you review of the L'Oreal Eversleek shampoo and conditioner. :)
Now, I ran oout of my beloved Tresemme Platinum Strength and I thought, might as well try something new! And this was I think half price in Sainsbury's? I was pretty excited because I've seen about that sulphates are bad for your hair and stuff so I thought, why not?

I've used this combo for about a month now, and it's got to the point where I just couldn't carry on using it. The first thing you notice is that they smell amazing, and the smell really stays in your hair, but really, and the top of my hair would be shiny on the first day, but that's about all the good points I can find. I noticed my hair would be sort of greasy looking on the second day, so that 'shine' I was having on the first day just made it look greasy by the next day. Now normally, I can go 3 days without washing my hair, maybe 4 with a little help from dry shampoo!
It also made my ends so so so dry, it became unbearable. Even with the help of hair serum, it would just look awful, and I normally have my hair down for work so it made me very conscious! At first I thought, 'maybe it's because I'm putting some of the shampoo in the ends, I wont do that next time!' Did it help? Nope! It still looked dry, and my ends became split, frizzy and I was getting A LOT of breakages.
This duo is supposed to be for 'frizzy, overworked hair' but it just made my hair in more of a worse condition, when I was finally starting to be quite pleased with how my hair was looking condition wise! Even other people were noticing how dry my hair looked. I tried my intensive conditioners, I tried a argan oil hair mask, but it still looked dry!
So, I'm a bit bewildered really, if this is a sulphate free shampoo and conditioner, then why is it so drying?! Considering it's supposed to be the sulphates that dry out your hair! :(
I've now had to revert back to my Tresemme, and after two washes I can already see an improvement, although my hair is still suffering!
So lets try and some this up;

L'Oreal_Eversleek_Shampoo_Conditioner
Pros:
-Smells AMAZING.
-Leaves and amazing shine on freshly washed hair.

Cons:
-Very drying
-The 'shine' from the first day becomes more greasy on the second day.
-Does NOT do what it says it does; there is no way that it's nourishing, or smooths.

All in all, I hate giving a bad review, but there's not really anything else I can say that's positive, unfortunately! Perhaps if I had thicker hair I would get a better result? I don't know, it's supposed to be good for even 'delicate' hair and mine is very fine, so I would of thought it would be classed as delicate?
I think I'll just mix the conditioner with another one to not waste it, I don't think I'll risk the shampoo again though. Maybe I got a bad batch? Who knows.

You can find them pretty much anywhere for from about £3.99 to £5.99

Have you tried this product? If so how did you get on with it?

Until next time!
xoxoxo.

The Fragrance Shop: Discovery Club 5th Edition Box Review

THE_FRAGRANCE_SHOP_5TH_EDITION_DISCOVERY_CLUB
Hello my lovlies!
Today I have for you a little review of the Discovery club box by the Fragrance shop.
Now this is like one of those monthly beauty box subscriptions but instead you get fragrance samples :)
It's also quarterly (every 3 months) and £5 a time.
I came across this on a blog, but I can't remember who it was! If I rememver I'll link them :)

THE_FRAGRANCE_SHOP_5TH_EDITION_DISCOVERY_CLUB
It comes nicely presented :)

THE_FRAGRANCE_SHOP_5TH_EDITION_DISCOVERY_CLUB
And you also get £5 off vouchers for all the perfumes in the booklet that comes with it.

THE_FRAGRANCE_SHOP_5TH_EDITION_DISCOVERY_CLUB
Inside the 5th edition box is 9 samples of perfume in total, 6 female and 3 male, which are (in order of how they are pictured, descriptions are from The Fragrance Shop website):

Nina Ricci, Nina; 'A magical scent captured inside a glass apple. Nina offers charm and enchantment with a dash of seduction in what is a fresh floral fruity fragrance.'
Givenchy, Very Irrésistible; 'A very dynamic sensual fragrance possessing the elegant floral top notes of rose and the exotic daring combination of peony and rose fantasia. A very appealing feminine scent by Givenchy.'
Hugo Boss, Hugo Man; 'Fresh, sharp and extremely masculine, HUGO is about living life on your own terms with a certain irreverence. It is created not for those who go with the trend of the moment, but for those who seek a style of their own. The chunky glass bottled is topped off with a masculine metal topper, capturing a fresh, lively scent.'
Thierry Mugler, Angel; 'Angel, the first fragrance by Thierry Mugler, is a voluptuous oriental gourmand with a truly beautiful bottle resembling dazzling stars cut from a night blue sky.'
Gucci, Gucci Guilty; 'Gucci takes as a catalyst its iconic entwined G’s and brings us a heroine who regards this emblem as an incitement to subvert. For this most contemporary of rebels, Gucci is the brand of sex and power. In Gucci Guilty, this woman discovers the very scent of defiance.'
HUGO BOSS, BOSS BOTTLED; 'A true male iconic fragrance that remains as popular now as its launch in 1994. The juice is fresh and sharp with a warm woody base whilst the bottle offers a sleek, uncomplicated but very masculine look.'
Issey Miyake, L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme; 'Since 1994, L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme has become a hallmark of sophistication in the world of fragrances. It awakens the senses with its blend of citrus, precious woods and spices. The pure, energising scent is perfect for a modern, independent man.'
Jean Paul Gaultier ''Classique''; 'Launched in 1993, Classique has become a true icon in the fragrance world. The supremely seductive oriental floral fragrance pays homage to the beauty of women with its corset inspired design. A sweet and bold EDT.'
Thierry Mugler, Alien; 'Distinctive and mysterious, yet comforting and soft. The EDT conveys passion, sensuality and the essence of absolute femininity with a rich floral woody with a magical trail for a fragrance that is truly out of this world.'

For me, the idea of this is great, having sensitive skin makes me a bit weary of trying new perfumes in case I break out into a rash, so by having a samples I can try new perfumes to see if they suit me, and see how they react with me :)
These are also great for travel as most of them do have them are in like spray things!
I've already got Classique, but I've never tried the rest, I think I'll give the mens samples to the Fiance!
My favourites are probably Alien or Gucci Guilty, or Nina. I am currently writing this in my leopard print onesie I got for Christmas which now has a different perfume practically everywhere! I just like to smell them as I write, haha! I smell like a tarts handbag ;)
Will I buy this again? I think so!
Have you tried The Discovery Club before? Or do you own any of these perfumes? I'd love to know!
xoxo

L'Oreal: False Lash Flutter Mascara Review

L'OREAL_FALSE_LASH_FLUTTER_MASCARA_BLACK
Hello my lovlies!
I have a little review today of the L'Oreal False Lash Flutter Mascara in Black.
Now this mascara has been about for a little under a year I think? But I never really noticed it before, which seems strange as I'm normally like a magpie when it comes to shiny things!
Now this mascara is supposed to be based around a butterfly, by it being called 'flutter' and the wing shaped brush and L'Oreal says it has 'butterfly fibres'. Which is a posh way of saying it's a fibre mascara ;) With all the butterfly references, it was hard to not buy it! I've never tried a L'Oreal mascara before, but I've always admired the fancy packaging and was quite excited to try this one!

L'OREAL_FALSE_LASH_FLUTTER_MASCARA_BLACK

L'OREAL_FALSE_LASH_FLUTTER_MASCARA_BLACK
Look! I've never seen a mascara brush like it!

Now, normally, I go for a waterproof formula as my eyes can get quite watery, from allergies, and the wind, plus I'm a bit of am emotional person :P However, when I got caught it 1 minute-ish of torrential rain going from car to workplace, it didn't stream my face at all! Only a bit of a transfer onto my finger when trying to tidy myself up in the loos! I found that pretty impressive! As for wear throughout the day, I can't really complain, I get 1 or 2 specs on my face during the day but it's barely noticeable, it doesn't smudge, and despite being a bit of a wetter constancy than I normally prefer, it dries super quick.
Time for photos!

Here are my naked lashes, that have been curled and I tightlined my waterline. They aren't the shortest of lashes, but then again not really the longest.

L'OREAL_FALSE_LASH_FLUTTER_MASCARA_BLACK_SWATCH
Here are my lashes with one coat, I so so so love this mascara! Look how fab they look! So long and it nicely wings out my outer lashes to make them more.. fluttery I guess!

L'OREAL_FALSE_LASH_FLUTTER_MASCARA_BLACK_SWATCH

Here are my lashes with 2 coats, they don't look too different, just a bit thicker :) I prefer only to use one coat really! The formula dries so quick and look perfectly fine with one coat so I just apply it then go!

So to round it up;
Pros:
-Lengthens and thickens without looking clumpy
-Dries quickly
-Doesn't smudge
-Seems waterproof
-Lasts well throughout the day

Cons:
-The formula is quite wet, which might not be for everyone
-The price, it's £10.99 which I deem as quite a bit for a 'drugstore' mascara!

Overall, would I repurchase? I do love this mascara, but I'm not sure about the price, if it was on offer, I'd buy it straight away! So I may carry on the search for the perfect mascara that's a little cheaper, and wait for this one to be at a nicer price ;) It's such a shame though, this would be my perfect mascara if it weren't for the price :(

It is available in four different colours, Black, Midnight Blacks Extra Black, Blue and
Purple, and you can get them at Boots and Superdrug for £10.99
I hope you found this helpful :)
Have you tried this mascara? What is your perfect mascara?
Until next time!

E.L.F: Baked Eyeshadow Palette in California Review & Swatches

E.L.F_Baked_Shadow_Palette

Hello my lovlies :)
Today I have for you a post on the baked eyeshadow palette from my recent 50% off haul.

E.L.F_Baked_Shadow_Palette
Now this is supposedly a dupe for the Naked Palette... Now I haven't used the Naked palette, only seen it in videos/palettes or online but I highly doubt that it is. It is all shimmer/has glitter in it. When I say glitter, I mean quite big chunks! Which might not be to everyone's taste.

Dry swatches with no Primer, top & bottom rows.
E.L.F_Baked_Shadow_Palette_Dry_Swatch
E.L.F_Baked_Shadow_Palette_Dry_Swatch

As you can see, there is barely any pigmentation, I really had to swipe a lot of product to get this pay off. When wearing, I have only tried using a concealer as a base as that's what I normally use, I never use a primer as my lids particularly oily. The only way I could get could colour pay off from nearly all of them was by using it wet. Which I don't really fancy doing day to day, really? I could just as easily use my MUA palette which has the same sort of shades and a hell of a lot more pigment.

E.L.F_Baked_Shadow_Palette_Wet_Swatch
Here are the wet swatches, the colours are actually very pretty! Such a shame they couldn't be this beautiful without using them wet :(

For a baked shadow palette, I really though it was going to be good, especially with it being from the Studio range, and it being £10! Now I don't know if I got a bad one but, I'm actually rather disappointed. The packaging is pretty sturdy though and there is a nice big mirror.

All in all, the best way is to use this wet, which is a bit of a hassle for me if I'm in a rush to get to work in the morning! So I doubt it'll be used a lot, I'll probably stick with my Undress me Too MUA palette, during the day, and maybe use this for more evening looks.
I paid £5 but it is normally £10 on eyeslipsface.co.uk

Have you tried this palette? I would love to hear your thoughts!
Until next time,
xoxoxox.

Max Factor: Waterproof Masterpiece Mascara Review

Hello my lovlies!
Today I have a review of the Masterpiece Mascara in Waterproof for you.
I bought this mascara at the airport (you can find my haul post here) so I've had it just under a month, and have used it practically everyday, so I have a pretty good understanding of it!

First off, apologies for the eyebrows! After my holiday they're have a bit of a growth spurt so I'm trying to grow them a little bit.

It's got quite a think but loose consistency. You have to be pretty gentle with you lashes, as it's pretty easy to get it on your lid, unfortunately!
It has good staying power and doesn't flake off during the day. I like wearing waterproof because of my hayfever, and this doesn't budge. It gives my lashes a bit of length and quite a bit of volume. It can be quite clumpy though after the first coat, I tend to apply a different mascara which helps to comb off the excess.
Time for photos!

Here are my lashes without mascara on, they're just been curled and I tightlined my waterline a little bit.

Here is one coat of mascara, with a very light coat on my bottom lashes too. As you can see, there's a nice bit of length volume. Very natural looking.

Here is a picture with a second coat added to the top lashes. As you can see it's added more length but looks pretty clumpy/stuck together. Now, some people like their eyelashes looking like this, which is perfectly fine! I just like mine to be all seperated, however I'd still wear them like this, if I didn't have time to sort it out :P
Using a third coat is a bit of a mess and I wouldn't suggest it. They get pretty awful where the formula is pretty wet.

Overall, this is a good mascara, providing you looking for a natural amount of length and volume, and aren't looking to layer it up too much. Saying that, it might be a bit better when the product starts drying a bit. I'll update this post in a month or so.
I don't know if I would repurchase this again, as I find myself using another mascara with it, I paid £9.99 for this mascara which is a lot for me!
*UPDATE* I have now ran out of this mascara, and it did improve after a couple of months when the formula became less wet. It was a pretty darn good mascara! I would repurchase it again, however, I would repurchase it a couple of months before I needed it, to help it solidify a bit. :)
You can find it here on the Boots website or here on the Superdrug website.

Until next time!
xoxo.

Barry M: 337 Pink Silver Glitter Swatches & Review

Hello my lovlies!
I am back off of my holiday and off of 'holiday mode'!
Today I have for you a swatch and review of one of the Barry M Glitter polishes in 'Pink Silver Glitter'

Barry_M_Pink_Silver_Glitter
First off, this is my favourite polish I've bought this year. Hands down. It is stunning. It's full little  silver and light and dark pink microglitters, it's so beautiful to look at. It's so dense, too heavy for a topcoat but needs 3 coats to make it fully opaque. It goes on beautifully smooth, and dry rather quickly.
It's just gorgeous. It's beautiful enough to wear on a special occasion, yet sort of subtle enough to wear everyday. I loved wearing this on holiday and it lasted pretty darn well (a good six days if not more!) with a base and top coat. It only started chipping after I'd been in the pool, and jacuzzi.
Although you have to remember to use thin coats, I used much too much base & topcoat and this polish and it just peeled off within 3 days. However, I think this also may be to do with my moisturising hand wash?

Barry_M_Pink_Silver_Glitter_Swatch
Look at it! This photo doesn't nearly do it justice. Go and look at it for yourselves, it looks just like the bottle. So pretty!

Barry_M_Pink_Silver_Glitter_Swatch
The different coloured glitters gives such a beautiful effect! I think this is going to be a firm favourite for the summer, if we ever get one!
Available from Superdrug and Boots for £2.99! Which is a bargain.
There's a 3 for 2 going on at Superdrug so go go go!

Until next time
xoxoxo.

Dirty Works: Pore-fect Face Scrub Review

Hello my lovlies!
Today I have for you a review on the Pore-fect Face Scrub by Dirty Works.
I have been using this for a good few months now, and it really is amazing!

'Reveal the inner beauty with this softening and smoothing facial scrub. Bursting with fruit extracts, it will tingle your senses with excitement and leave you skin refreshed and ready for further action! Let the magic get to work to help perfect the texture of your skin and leave it in extraordinarily smooth. The top beauty treat for skin radiance!'

I use this about twice a week (as that's what they recommend) either in the bath or in the shower, whilst I leave my conditioner in for a bit. You only need a little bit and when I wash it off I tend to use a clean face flannel.
The menthol in it really awakens your face especially in the morning, and makes your face feel sort of rejuvenated? It's amazing.
I believe it's really helped with the typical bad skin during 'that time of the month' and even though there's menthol and quite a strong fruity scent, it doesn't affect my sensitive skin.

I find that I definitely need to use a moisturiser after using it as it's pretty astringent and makes my face feel a little tight..Which I don't mind, because obviously it means it's working!
However even though it does make my skin feel tight, it also makes it feel soft and new, so that's good too!

Will I repurchase this again?
Definitely! Even though I wouldn't mind trying other products, I can still see this being my 'go to' scrub. This has left me eager to try some more from the Dirty Works range too!
I think I bought it when it was on offer.. It was so long ago I cant even remember! But for £4.99 it's normal price it's a steal.
You can find it here on their website or here on the Sainsbury's website, it's is currently 33% off at £3.32!

It also appears that the packaging is now blue!? I should probably go to my local Sainsbury's and have a look!

Don't forget to follow me on Bloglovin' incase we loose GFC :(
& Apologies for the darkness of the pictures! The weather was awful, must remember to take new ones!

Until next time

xoxoxo.

Essie: 795 Love & Acceptance Nail Polish Swatch & Mini Review

Hello my lovlies!
Today I have for you my first ever Essie Polish!
This shade is 795 Love & Acceptance which is a lovely pastel lilac shade from the 2012 Wedding Collection.
I am so impressed with the formula! It dries quickly and you can get it opaque with 2 generous coats, I like to use 3 just be sure though :)
I am actually in love with this polish, it's definitely my go-to at the minute. I also like to team it up with silver glitter on my ring fingers, but that's for another post!

This is one of the other buys I got from the Chatham Outlet Centre (I also bought NYX Jumbo Pencils post here) I think this was around £6.99 or 3 for £18? I only bought one to test out but I'm definitely sold now and can't wait to get more!

Do you recommend any shades? I would love to know!

Until next time
xoxo.

NYX: Jumbo Eye Pencils in Black Bean & French Fries Mini Review & Swatches

Hello my lovlies :)
Today I have for you a little review & swatch post of the NYX Jumbo Pencils in French Fries and  Black Bean.

NYX_Black_Bean_French_Fries
The other day and friend and I took a random trip to the Chatham Dockside Outlet place and they had a couple of discount makeup shops, one of which had NYX. It was so exciting as I've been wanting to try the brand for aaaaaages! I was dying to find Milk to no avail, so I settled for Black Bean and French Fries, just to try out a couple for now.

601 Black Bean
NYX_Black_Bean
A deep deep matte black colour (swatch down below) it's thick yet creamy and a great base for dark smokey eyes, it's fabulously pigmented. I love using this to tightline, I find it so much easier using this despite it being huge!

609 French Fries
NYX_French_Fries
This is a bronzey-brown shade with slight gold shimmer particles. I'm in love with this as a base! Again a thick yet creamy consistency. I've been heavily into wearing brown/gold shades to accentuate my eyes so this is indeed perfect.

French Fries on the left and Black Bean on the right.
This is just with one swipe, so pigmented it's madness!
Set with an eyeshadow these last for absolutely ages, yet on their own they do have a tendency to crease after a while. I would highly recommend the pencils, even at full price, I can see these lasting a very long time.
These have a RRP of £4.50, however I paid something like £1.50/£1.90 at the discount shop! Such a good saving! Admittedly, there isn't a wide range of colours, but for a few staples in your collection it's certainly worth a look in there.

I've just realised out of all the colours I could have chosen I've picked the ones with food related names! Typical! Aha.
Until next time!
xoxo.

Catrice: Made To Stay Long Lasting Eyeshadow in Metall of Honor

Hello my lovlies! Today I have for you my first swatches and review from the Blogswap with Nina
The one I received is in 050 Metall of Honour, which is one of 6 shades (you can find them here on the Catrice website)
This is a gorgeous shade of bronze with gold flecks of glitter, I seriously love it!
I find this is best applied with my E.L.F Studio Line Concealer brush, and then I tend to pat on a shadow on top. Below I have added some of my BFTE pigments on top, (find my BFTE haul here). The first colour is Metall of Honor on it's own.
From left to right; 1) with out shadow. 2) Grape. 3)Meteor Shower. 4)Beam. 5)Cocoa. 6)Wizards Wand. 7)Errai. 8)Honey. (Bottom row is with flash)

I like how the base changes with different colour overlay. I can't wait to play with it some more. The colour pay off is great, a little goes a real long way, and it has long lasting colour too.
Until next time!
xoxo

NYC- High Definition Volume Mascara Mini Review & Photos

"Ultimate lash defining & eye opening mascara with plastic brush for perfect separation.
Immediate long lasting wide eye opening effect. Precise brush perfectly lifts, lengthens, separates lashes for the wide-open eye look." - Superdrug.
Hello my lovlies :) today I have another NYC mascara for you guys (here is the link to the other review). I bought this about 3 weeks ago, along with the other mascara, because this was £1.99 too. As I said in the other post, I don't like paying too much for mascara because they only have a 3 month shelf life before they need chucking.
Like the other mascara I bought at the same time, this caught my eye because of the brightly coloured packaging, plus it was £1.99 on promotion, I couldn't resist.
The wand is plastic, which I don't tend to go for plastic wands but this is comfortable to use and doesn't irritate my eyes.
Time for pictures. Do excuse the eyebrows!
Here is my eye without mascara, all I've done is tightline and curl my lashes.

Here is my eye with one coat. As you can see I find this to be a bit messy, but you can see it's separated the lashes nicely and given a bit of length.

Here is with two coats. The lashes look long, relatively separated and got a nice bit of volume, just like it says on the tin! ;) Admittedly my lashes normally look more separated when using this, probably just having an off day!

Overall, I like the formulation of the product, the brush doesn't get overloaded with the product so there is less mess and makes it easier to get on with, the price is also a bonus. The only bad point I have is the slight flakiness, which tends to get in my eyes and down my face during the day. It's not overly bad, but it's still quite annoying sometimes.
Will I repurchase? I'm undecided, I don't really appreciate the flaking but for £1.99 it would probably be alright if you're wearing it for a few hours.

It is currently back at the RRP of £3.99 and you can find it here at Superdrug.

NYC - High Definition Mascara Mini Review and Before & After Photos.

"How high can your lashes take you? With new NYC New York Color High Definition Separating Mascara the sky’s the limit for a knock-down price. It smoothly separates and defines your lashes – without clumping – for a 360° wide open-eye look. So apply, step out and take that elevator all the way up." - Superdrug

Hello my lovlies :) today I have for you the NYC High Definition Mascara in Carbon black.
I bought this about 3 weeks ago purely because it was advertised at £1.99. I'm one of those people that doesn't like to pay a lot of money for mascara considering it has a 3 month life after opening.
This product caught my eye because of it's brightly coloured yellow packaging, and when I saw it was part of the £1.99 promotion (which is no more I'm afraid!) the temptation was too hard to resist. For £1.99 you can't really say no, can you?

The wand is plastic and a nice shape. I don't tend to like plastic wands but I don't find this too irritating when I use it. The I do find that the mascara itself is very wet, and I get it absolutely everywhere. I find that when a mascara is a bit wet it tends to thicken up after a couple of weeks, but unfortunately this hasn't.

Time for before and after pictures, please excuse the bad eyebrow day!
Here is my eye with no mascara on, however I've tightlined and curled my lashes.

Here is my eye after one coat on top and bottom, however I use barely any product on my bottom lashes because they are really long and they don't really need it.
As you can see the lashes aren't clumpy, it's not totally separating like the description states, but that's because the formulation is too wet, perhaps I picked up a dodgey one, who knows!

Here is my eye after two coats, my lashes look a lot more separated and look lovely and long. However you can see the mascara I managed to get on my eye, there is even more on the top of my eyelid, unfortunately. For £1.99 I can't really complain.
I did apply 3 coats just to see how it looked, and believe me, don't do it. It looked so awful I couldn't bare to put it on here, my eye definitely looked a hot mess!

Overall, the outcome after using 2 coats is pretty brilliant, I like the bright packaging. The only downside I have is, as I said before that I find the product too wet for me personally. I also find that it flakes off during the day, which isn't fun, especially at work when you don't have a mirror readily available.
Will I repurchase? I'm unsure. I don't tend to stay with the same mascara, and although it is good for the price, I'm still not totally convinced that it's the best.

It is currently back to it's retail price of £3.99 and you can find it here at Superdrug.

Until next time;
xoxo.
