E.L.F: Baked Eyeshadow Palette in California Review & Swatches

E.L.F_Baked_Shadow_Palette

Hello my lovlies :)
Today I have for you a post on the baked eyeshadow palette from my recent 50% off haul.

E.L.F_Baked_Shadow_Palette
Now this is supposedly a dupe for the Naked Palette... Now I haven't used the Naked palette, only seen it in videos/palettes or online but I highly doubt that it is. It is all shimmer/has glitter in it. When I say glitter, I mean quite big chunks! Which might not be to everyone's taste.

Dry swatches with no Primer, top & bottom rows.
E.L.F_Baked_Shadow_Palette_Dry_Swatch

As you can see, there is barely any pigmentation, I really had to swipe a lot of product to get this pay off. When wearing, I have only tried using a concealer as a base as that's what I normally use, I never use a primer as my lids particularly oily. The only way I could get could colour pay off from nearly all of them was by using it wet. Which I don't really fancy doing day to day, really? I could just as easily use my MUA palette which has the same sort of shades and a hell of a lot more pigment.

E.L.F_Baked_Shadow_Palette_Wet_Swatch
Here are the wet swatches, the colours are actually very pretty! Such a shame they couldn't be this beautiful without using them wet :(

For a baked shadow palette, I really though it was going to be good, especially with it being from the Studio range, and it being £10! Now I don't know if I got a bad one but, I'm actually rather disappointed. The packaging is pretty sturdy though and there is a nice big mirror.

All in all, the best way is to use this wet, which is a bit of a hassle for me if I'm in a rush to get to work in the morning! So I doubt it'll be used a lot, I'll probably stick with my Undress me Too MUA palette, during the day, and maybe use this for more evening looks.
I paid £5 but it is normally £10 on eyeslipsface.co.uk

Have you tried this palette? I would love to hear your thoughts!
Until next time,

George: Limited Edition Glitter Polishes Haul & Swatches!

George_Limited_Edition_Glitter_Polishes
Hello my lovlies!
Today I have for you a little glitter haul :)
A couple of weeks ago, George at Asda bought out 4 new limited edition glitter polishes, only 7000 have been made of these so when they're gone, they're gone!
As a sucker for glitter I couldn't not buy them ;) so here they are;

Ruby Slippers
George_Limited_Edition_Ruby_Slippers_Glitter
A beautiful multi-sized red glitter polish, now I would use this as a top coat, however they tell you to use 2-3 coats, and so I have shown you what it looks like with 3 coats. It doesn't exactly cover fully, I'm not too sure how this would dry if you put any more layers on? This will be fab for Christmas! Then again, all these polishes would be.

George_Limited_Edition_Dotty_Glitter
This is another matte glitter polish that looks like L'Oreal Confetti, however, this has tiny tiny little flecks of green glitter, which you can just about see in the close up of the bottle. This makes it a lot less 'flat'. They again suggested 2-3 coats with this, however, it doesn't exactly cover well, I think this looks better as a single layer top coat.

Ice Queen
George_Limited_Edition_Ice_Queen_Glitter
This definitely fits the name! It looks like little shreds of multicoloured ice, a sure Christmas party top coat! I again did the 3 layers as suggested however, it's not really my cup of tea like that, and it didn't really dry very nicely. I think it'll be better just having one coat and then sort of patting on where you feel necessary.
Glitter Bomb
George_Limited_Edition_Glitter_Bomb
A three sized glitter polish consisting of pink, light blue, green, silver and gold. It seriously is a Glitter Bomb and I'm in love! It looks like confetti from a pinata or like when you see them parties on telly with the disco ball and then all the glitter comes down over the dance floor ;) I think this has to be my favourite!

Now all these polishes are £3 each which is a good buy in my eyes!
I can't wait to try them all out. Let me know if you want any reviews :)
I'm also thinking of doing a dupes post as I have a similar polish to Ice Queen and I have the L'oreal Confetti which is quite obviously close to Dotty. Let me know if you've seen any others?

Until next time!

Barry M: 337 Pink Silver Glitter Swatches & Review

Hello my lovlies!
I am back off of my holiday and off of 'holiday mode'!
Today I have for you a swatch and review of one of the Barry M Glitter polishes in 'Pink Silver Glitter'

Barry_M_Pink_Silver_Glitter
First off, this is my favourite polish I've bought this year. Hands down. It is stunning. It's full little  silver and light and dark pink microglitters, it's so beautiful to look at. It's so dense, too heavy for a topcoat but needs 3 coats to make it fully opaque. It goes on beautifully smooth, and dry rather quickly.
It's just gorgeous. It's beautiful enough to wear on a special occasion, yet sort of subtle enough to wear everyday. I loved wearing this on holiday and it lasted pretty darn well (a good six days if not more!) with a base and top coat. It only started chipping after I'd been in the pool, and jacuzzi.
Although you have to remember to use thin coats, I used much too much base & topcoat and this polish and it just peeled off within 3 days. However, I think this also may be to do with my moisturising hand wash?

Barry_M_Pink_Silver_Glitter_Swatch
Look at it! This photo doesn't nearly do it justice. Go and look at it for yourselves, it looks just like the bottle. So pretty!

Barry_M_Pink_Silver_Glitter_Swatch
The different coloured glitters gives such a beautiful effect! I think this is going to be a firm favourite for the summer, if we ever get one!
Available from Superdrug and Boots for £2.99! Which is a bargain.
There's a 3 for 2 going on at Superdrug so go go go!

Until next time

Essie: 795 Love & Acceptance Nail Polish Swatch & Mini Review

Hello my lovlies!
Today I have for you my first ever Essie Polish!
This shade is 795 Love & Acceptance which is a lovely pastel lilac shade from the 2012 Wedding Collection.
I am so impressed with the formula! It dries quickly and you can get it opaque with 2 generous coats, I like to use 3 just be sure though :)
I am actually in love with this polish, it's definitely my go-to at the minute. I also like to team it up with silver glitter on my ring fingers, but that's for another post!

This is one of the other buys I got from the Chatham Outlet Centre (I also bought NYX Jumbo Pencils post here) I think this was around £6.99 or 3 for £18? I only bought one to test out but I'm definitely sold now and can't wait to get more!

Do you recommend any shades? I would love to know!

Until next time
xoxo.

Catrice: Made To Stay Long Lasting Eyeshadow in Metall of Honor

Hello my lovlies! Today I have for you my first swatches and review from the Blogswap with Nina
The one I received is in 050 Metall of Honour, which is one of 6 shades (you can find them here on the Catrice website)
This is a gorgeous shade of bronze with gold flecks of glitter, I seriously love it!
I find this is best applied with my E.L.F Studio Line Concealer brush, and then I tend to pat on a shadow on top. Below I have added some of my BFTE pigments on top, (find my BFTE haul here). The first colour is Metall of Honor on it's own.
From left to right; 1) with out shadow. 2) Grape. 3)Meteor Shower. 4)Beam. 5)Cocoa. 6)Wizards Wand. 7)Errai. 8)Honey. (Bottom row is with flash)

I like how the base changes with different colour overlay. I can't wait to play with it some more. The colour pay off is great, a little goes a real long way, and it has long lasting colour too.
Until next time!
xoxo

George: Troll Swatch and Mini Review

Hello there, I have another George polish for you! I know as it's all Jubilee mad here in the UK I should probably post something Jubilee related, but I've been at work a lot and have these pictures already done, so it's just easier I'm afraid! However red is still related!

First off, this colour is amaaazing! It's so vampy and sexy eeek. It is such a gorgeous matte shade I think I'm in love with it! It's definitely one of my favourite polishes I own, however in my opinion it looks better on long nails so I'll just have to wait for mine to grow :(

I though I'd show you how it looks with a top coat. In some aspects it looks just as beautiful, but in my opinion, it looks a lot better matte.

I can't remember how much I paid, but between £1 and £1.75 for 30ml of product is fab!
I cant really comment on wear because it depends on the base coat and whether you use a top coat, but for the price, does it really matter?

You can find this at Asda :)

xoxo.

George: Movie Star Swatch and Mini Review

Hello there :) I have had this George polish since Christmas, along with another 2 that will be posted within the next couple of weeks. Here is the first one;

This is such a beautiful shade, it's a beigey brown with a purple sheen through it. When swatched you can only really see it in sunlight, it just looks mostly purple without being directly in the sun. I think with the more layers you put on effects the shade too.  It needed about 3 layers to become opaque, however I have a feeling I used 4 for good measure.

I'm not quite sure how much I paid for this polish, I think it was either £1 or £1.75, which is great even if it's 5ml or product. Polishes like this are perfect for people who change their polish up regularly. I'm unsure of how long it lasts, as I think I only wore it a day and then decided I wanted to see how one of the others looked.

Have you tried any George polishes? I'd love to know!

xoxo

Models Own: Indian Ocean and Blue Purple Mini Review & Swatches.

Hello my lovlies! Today I'm sharing with you 2 polishes from the Beetle Juice Collection by Models Own.

Indian Ocean is a beautiful blue iridescent shade with pink and gold duochrome. Purple Blue is a glass flecked mutichrome consisting of purple, blue (as the name suggests) copper and pink too.

Indian Ocean is unfortunately rather sheer and takes quite a few coats to build it up (this is with 3 and still sheer) however, it is a great layering shade.

I'd seen on another blog (I'm not sure of the name now, if you could let me know that would be fab!) how layering Indian Ocean of blue and pink made a real difference so I thought I'd demonstrate that for you too.
On the left is Natural Collections Topaz and E.L.F's Fair Pink on the right.

The one on the left is with the Fair Pink underneath, it really brings out the blue! And on the left wis with Topaz (you can't see how glittery it looked in person.) And with normal Indian ocean in the middle as a comparison.

This polish is thick enough to carry itself opaquely in 3 coats. In some lights it can look like it's a brown with blue glitter, but get it out in the sun and it just looks beautiful!

All in all, these polishes are little beauties! A great addition to any collection, can't wait to wear Indian Ocean in the summer!

I bought these 2 for £8 in Boots, and you can find them on the Models Own website.

GOSH: Bright Passion Nail Polish Swatches

Hello there :) here is another nail varnish post for you!

Sorry about the left over bit of security tag! That's the only problem for me buying from superdrug!

This is with about four coats, I tried to build it up but it's obviously more designed to be a topcoat as the base colour is very dilute. I really love the strands of glitter, getting me in a party mood!

A better picture of the four layers. I've done some experimenting layering it up so posts should be coming soon!

RRP: £5

Barry M: Foil Effects Polish in Silver Swatches & Mini Review

Hello my lovlies! Today I have for you the Barry M Foil Effect Nail Polish in 319

'Instant Nail Effects foil is an amazing addition to our Nail Paints. It is applied like any other Nail Paint but with a luxurious foil finish previously only acheived from a salon manicure. It only requires one coat and is very quick drying."

This polish is a great look for a night out, and can be great during the day if you can pull it off! It's also great for nail art.

It only needs one coat and dries quickly, great if you're in a rush like I always am!

It does sort of look like a minx jobby but I'm not so convinced.

Overall, the application is fab, may look streaky ish when applied but once dries it looks flawless, looks great underneath a variety of top coats or just as good on it's own, and for it's price you can't go far wrong!

RRP: £3.99, you can find it at Boots, Superdrug and on the Barry M website.

GOSH: Blooming Forrest Quattro Swatches & Mini Review

Hello there my lovlies :) Time for another review & swatch post, this time of another GOSH Quattro. (I did some swatches a very long while back and don't think I should link back because they are probably terrible!)

The packaging is nice a sturdy, and I also like the little window so you can see the colours inside.
Time for swatches.
Natural light

With flash.

My favourite colour has to be the burgundy colour, it really is beautiful and I can't wait to use it in a smokey eye. The white shade will be a great brow highlight colour too.

Overall, pigmentation is good and I like the packaging, however for £8.49 I am unsure if I would repurchase if they weren't on offer.

RRP: £8.49 and you can find them here on the superdrug website.

GOSH: Green Hawaii Nail Polish Swatches

I got this as part of a birthday present, and thought I'd swatch it for you. I don't know if you can see the weird sticky stuff on the lid? Superdrug always has them dodgey barcode thingies that are so awful to get off! If someone could give me any tips I'd be so grateful!

This is it in natural light, it's a beautiful yellow based green with multicoloured glitter.

This is it with flash.

You can see it here up close, and you can definitely see the multicoloured glitter. These are all with 3 coats. I'd give a little review but I haven't had a chance to wear it yet. The glitter is rather chunky and I imagine this might need a bit of soaking to help get it off.
RRP: £5 at Superdrug
Hope you enjoyed the swatches!

xoxo.

MUA Immaculate Palette: Swatches & Review

Hiya, I know I'm a bit late posting this, as the palette has been out since October '11, but it's worth a review none the less, as some people are a bit wary of buying cheaper brands.

Here is a photo of the back of the palette, it has a great little 'Mini Master Class' for a Green Smoulder look. I thought this was a great little add on.
All the colours have been named by numbers, which is unlike the smaller palettes they do.

Here are the the pans with the shade numbers that I think you can just about make out. I couldn't take a good enough picture so had to do a bit of a bodge job on photoshop, that's why the pans are different sizes, woops!
Row one: Shades 1 - 8.
All colours were highly pigmented except for the matte black (shade 4) which as you can see isn't as pigmented and would need some building up to achieve a dark black.

Row 2: Shades 9 - 16.
All colours had great pigmentation except shade 9, I found this colour a little weak, however with a primer it might improve. It's also quite close to my skin tone which doesn't help.

Row 3: Shades 17 - 24.
Again, all shades had great pigmentation, except for shade 23, which I really had to try hard with to get some colour out of it. The white, shade 20, also wasn't great and you can't really notice it on my skin tone.

Pros
1)Most colours have good, if not great colour pay off and pigmentation
2)Packaging feels quite sturdy and not so cheap looking
3)There's a mix between matte & shimmer shades, which is great for day or night looks, and a good variety of colour.
4)Price is excellent for the quality of the palette.

Cons
Matte shades are definitely not as pigmented as the shimmery shades.
Staying power isn't fab, some sort of primer or base is needed.

So overall, this is a great palette, for the price it's worth having. There are so many beautiful shades, with numerous colour combinations you can't go wrong!

RRP: £8 found at superdrug and MUA online.

xoxo.

GOSH: Purple Heart Swatches & Mini Review

I'm starting to go through another nail varnish buying faze again! When I saw this I just had to pick it up.

At first this looks like a beautiful duochrome with purple and green running through a black base, however when swatched it's rather disappointing.

I couldn't get a photo to show both the purple and green shades, but I hope you can tell between the nails and the bottle. When swatched you can mainly see it as a blacky purple, with rare sightings of the green.
Overall, application is great it's easily opaque in 2 coats, but I used 3 just to be on the safe side. The polish applies thick yet dries relatively quickly. It's a great polish if you fancy wearing an interesting sort of blackish polish, or think that a black polish is too strong for you. This really is a good polish, because of how it looks in the bottle, I had really high expectations, so it's my fault that I sound so disheartened, I guess! It's a good little buy and I would recommend it.
RRP: £5 (however, they often have offers on at Superdrug)
