L'Oreal: False Lash Flutter Mascara Review

Hello my lovlies!

I have a little review today of the L'Oreal False Lash Flutter Mascara in Black.

Now this mascara has been about for a little under a year I think? But I never really noticed it before, which seems strange as I'm normally like a magpie when it comes to shiny things! 

Now this mascara is supposed to be based around a butterfly, by it being called 'flutter' and the wing shaped brush and L'Oreal says it has 'butterfly fibres'. Which is a posh way of saying it's a fibre mascara ;) With all the butterfly references, it was hard to not buy it! I've never tried a L'Oreal mascara before, but I've always admired the fancy packaging and was quite excited to try this one! 

Look! I've never seen a mascara brush like it! 

Now, normally, I go for a waterproof formula as my eyes can get quite watery, from allergies, and the wind, plus I'm a bit of am emotional person :P However, when I got caught it 1 minute-ish of torrential rain going from car to workplace, it didn't stream my face at all! Only a bit of a transfer onto my finger when trying to tidy myself up in the loos! I found that pretty impressive! As for wear throughout the day, I can't really complain, I get 1 or 2 specs on my face during the day but it's barely noticeable, it doesn't smudge, and despite being a bit of a wetter constancy than I normally prefer, it dries super quick.

Here are my naked lashes, that have been curled and I tightlined my waterline. They aren't the shortest of lashes, but then again not really the longest.

Here are my lashes with one coat, I so so so love this mascara! Look how fab they look! So long and it nicely wings out my outer lashes to make them more.. fluttery I guess!

Here are my lashes with 2 coats, they don't look too different, just a bit thicker :) I prefer only to use one coat really! The formula dries so quick and look perfectly fine with one coat so I just apply it then go! 

So to round it up;

Pros: 

-Lengthens and thickens without looking clumpy

-Dries quickly

-Doesn't smudge

-Seems waterproof

-Lasts well throughout the day

Cons:

-The formula is quite wet, which might not be for everyone

-The price, it's £10.99 which I deem as quite a bit for a 'drugstore' mascara!

Overall, would I repurchase? I do love this mascara, but I'm not sure about the price, if it was on offer, I'd buy it straight away! So I may carry on the search for the perfect mascara that's a little cheaper, and wait for this one to be at a nicer price ;) It's such a shame though, this would be my perfect mascara if it weren't for the price :(

Max Factor: Waterproof Masterpiece Mascara Review

Hello my lovlies! 

Today I have a review of the Masterpiece Mascara in Waterproof for you.

I bought this mascara at the airport (you can find my haul post here) so I've had it just under a month, and have used it practically everyday, so I have a pretty good understanding of it! 

First off, apologies for the eyebrows! After my holiday they're have a bit of a growth spurt so I'm trying to grow them a little bit.

It's got quite a think but loose consistency. You have to be pretty gentle with you lashes, as it's pretty easy to get it on your lid, unfortunately! 

It has good staying power and doesn't flake off during the day. I like wearing waterproof because of my hayfever, and this doesn't budge. It gives my lashes a bit of length and quite a bit of volume. It can be quite clumpy though after the first coat, I tend to apply a different mascara which helps to comb off the excess.

Here are my lashes without mascara on, they're just been curled and I tightlined my waterline a little bit.

Here is one coat of mascara, with a very light coat on my bottom lashes too. As you can see, there's a nice bit of length volume. Very natural looking.

Here is a picture with a second coat added to the top lashes. As you can see it's added more length but looks pretty clumpy/stuck together. Now, some people like their eyelashes looking like this, which is perfectly fine! I just like mine to be all seperated, however I'd still wear them like this, if I didn't have time to sort it out :P 

Using a third coat is a bit of a mess and I wouldn't suggest it. They get pretty awful where the formula is pretty wet.

Overall, this is a good mascara, providing you looking for a natural amount of length and volume, and aren't looking to layer it up too much. Saying that, it might be a bit better when the product starts drying a bit. I'll update this post in a month or so.

I don't know if I would repurchase this again, as I find myself using another mascara with it, I paid £9.99 for this mascara which is a lot for me! 

*UPDATE* I have now ran out of this mascara, and it did improve after a couple of months when the formula became less wet. It was a pretty darn good mascara! I would repurchase it again, however, I would repurchase it a couple of months before I needed it, to help it solidify a bit. :)

Hello my lovlies :) today I have another NYC mascara for you guys (here is the link to the other review). I bought this about 3 weeks ago, along with the other mascara, because this was £1.99 too. As I said in the other post, I don't like paying too much for mascara because they only have a 3 month shelf life before they need chucking. 

Like the other mascara I bought at the same time, this caught my eye because of the brightly coloured packaging, plus it was £1.99 on promotion, I couldn't resist.

The wand is plastic, which I don't tend to go for plastic wands but this is comfortable to use and doesn't irritate my eyes. 

Time for pictures. Do excuse the eyebrows! 

Here is my eye without mascara, all I've done is tightline and curl my lashes.

Here is my eye with one coat. As you can see I find this to be a bit messy, but you can see it's separated the lashes nicely and given a bit of length.

Here is with two coats. The lashes look long, relatively separated and got a nice bit of volume, just like it says on the tin! ;) Admittedly my lashes normally look more separated when using this, probably just having an off day! 

Overall, I like the formulation of the product, the brush doesn't get overloaded with the product so there is less mess and makes it easier to get on with, the price is also a bonus. The only bad point I have is the slight flakiness, which tends to get in my eyes and down my face during the day. It's not overly bad, but it's still quite annoying sometimes.

Will I repurchase? I'm undecided, I don't really appreciate the flaking but for £1.99 it would probably be alright if you're wearing it for a few hours.

Hello my lovlies :) today I have for you the NYC High Definition Mascara in Carbon black.

 I bought this about 3 weeks ago purely because it was advertised at £1.99. I'm one of those people that doesn't like to pay a lot of money for mascara considering it has a 3 month life after opening.

This product caught my eye because of it's brightly coloured yellow packaging, and when I saw it was part of the £1.99 promotion (which is no more I'm afraid!) the temptation was too hard to resist. For £1.99 you can't really say no, can you? 

The wand is plastic and a nice shape. I don't tend to like plastic wands but I don't find this too irritating when I use it. The I do find that the mascara itself is very wet, and I get it absolutely everywhere. I find that when a mascara is a bit wet it tends to thicken up after a couple of weeks, but unfortunately this hasn't. 

Time for before and after pictures, please excuse the bad eyebrow day! 

Here is my eye with no mascara on, however I've tightlined and curled my lashes.

Here is my eye after one coat on top and bottom, however I use barely any product on my bottom lashes because they are really long and they don't really need it. 

As you can see the lashes aren't clumpy, it's not totally separating like the description states, but that's because the formulation is too wet, perhaps I picked up a dodgey one, who knows! 

Here is my eye after two coats, my lashes look a lot more separated and look lovely and long. However you can see the mascara I managed to get on my eye, there is even more on the top of my eyelid, unfortunately. For £1.99 I can't really complain.

I did apply 3 coats just to see how it looked, and believe me, don't do it. It looked so awful I couldn't bare to put it on here, my eye definitely looked a hot mess! 

Overall, the outcome after using 2 coats is pretty brilliant, I like the bright packaging. The only downside I have is, as I said before that I find the product too wet for me personally. I also find that it flakes off during the day, which isn't fun, especially at work when you don't have a mirror readily available.

Will I repurchase? I'm unsure. I don't tend to stay with the same mascara, and although it is good for the price, I'm still not totally convinced that it's the best.

E.L.F: Punk Purple Studio Cream Eyeliner & Normal Lengthening & Defining Mascara Review + EOTD

I felt kind of mean writing off the E.L.F Punk Purple Cream Eyeliner & 

Line Lengthening & Defining Mascara, so I thought I'd give it a go!

E.L.F Normal Line Lengthening & Defining Mascara in Black - Upper and lower lashes

Sleek Face Contour Kit in Light - brow bone

(and some random dark brown eyeshadow to define my brows)

Now for the reviews:

E.L.F Studio Line Cream eyeliner in Punk Purple: 
I know first off I wasn't impressed, but when I actually gave it a go, it really surprised me! I used the little brush that came with it, and applied it like normal gel liner, okay, so the pigmentation wasn't great so I needed to kind of pack it on, but it was so smooth and really beautiful applies.  I really really love the colour! My eyes are a bluey-greeney-grey colour with light brown around the iris, so the purple reaaaaally brings out the green! Love it! Plus with having to build the colour up, it still looks smooth on the eye and doesn't feel heavy at all, which was good too!

 RRP: £3.50

E.L.F Normal Line Lengthening & Defining Mascara in Black: 

This mascara is an alright product for £1.50, but it does'nt really lengthen and define in my opinion. My eyelashes are pretty long, they went through a stage of being short where I used to wear false eyelashes everyday, (not good!) but now they have grown back fuller and longer :) I'm not really impressed with this but it's a good product just to use on the lower lash line, as it isn't too thick in consistency.

 RRP: £1.50

Overall, I really like the eyeliner but not so loving the mascara! If there are any other products you'd like me to review then please let me know! Until next time, love love
