Kiss My Sass Cosmetics

Sorry for the lack of blog posts at the minute, I'm about to buy a new camera so you'll be inundated with pictures in the near future! Hehe.

I've been investigating quite a few 'indie make up brands' and one I really liked the look of was Kiss My Sass Cosmetics. There is such an array of colours, and it's not just eyeshadows like a lot of 'indie' brands, there are mate eye primers, blushers, bronzers, highlighters, and lip glazes. I am
so so so so excited for my package to arrive although I'm going to have to wait a while because of being in England!
I will definitely review them and swatch them when they arrive!

Until next time

30 Day Make Up Challenge: Day 30

Here is the last entry of my make up challenge! Kind of sad to see it go :( it definitely got me into the swing of blogging again so I'm going to try and keep it up!

Products used:
E.L.F Complete Coverage Concealer
17's Single Eyeshadow in Ivory Coast
eBay unbranded eyeshadow palette in white, turquoise, dark blue, and black.
Barry M Intense Black Eyeliner
Rimmel Day 2 Night Mascara in black

How I did it:
1) I used the 2nd shade from the left of the E.L.F Concealer and used it on my under eye, and lid up to the brow.
2) I then set the concealer on the lid up to the brow with Ivory Coast.
3) I used the Barry M liner as a base colour by colouring in the outer and inner corner, totally missing out the middle section of the eye. I then blended, and used the rest of the product on brush of the lower lash line. I then patted on the dark blue where the black was used the turquoise on the inner portion and middle of lower lash line, blending into the darker colours. I went over the dark blue with the black, and blended out any harsh lines in the crease with the white.
4) I tightlined and lined my water line with the Barry M liner
5) I used a couple of coats of the Rimmel mascara

Hope you enjoyed!

Lush: Mini Haul of Samples & Brief Review

I was searching eBay for some samples to try out,
Here I got 10 samples for £5.34, which works out about 53p per sample which is great as they're good size samples.

Smells of strawberry & vanilla goodness! You can get about two baths out of this sample.
I already have this product in its full size so I'm giving this to my cousin to try out.
RRP: £2.45/100g
Smells lovely and vanillary. Used half of this the night I got it and it definitely made my skin feel moisturised and smooth.
Unfortunately, this was just for Christmas, which is such a shame as this is a really lovely product! :(

Unfortunately I really don't like the smell of this, which is a shame!
RRP: £4.10/100g

This is for dandruffy hair, you can really smell the lavender in it. I gave this to my boyfriends sister because she was telling me about her hair issues. She said it worked after her first use, although we found that on her hair it smelt a bit like organic dog food? Bit strange, but f it does the job, can't complain!
RRP: £4.50/55g

Really love the smell of this, I can't explain what it smells like, but the internet says its Jasmine, Mandarin & Vanilla. There are some bad reviews of this soap on the Lush website, so it will be interesting to see how it works for me personally.
RRP: £3/100g

This is taped shut so I'm a bit worried to open it in case I can't close it again so haven't been able to have a sniff of it yet, however their website says it contains cinnamon and ginger, sounds nice and Christmassy.
This has been discontinued, so lets hope I don't fall in love with this one and get disappointed!

This smells so amazing, I used a tiny bit (a tiny bit goes a long way with this product because it's so thick) on my nails and cuticles and seriously the smell, it's so gorgeous! This made my sore dry cuticles feel nourished and moisturised, got a feeling this will be a repurchase! Although I can see this tiny pot lasting my quite a while.
RRP: £5.95/50g

Quite frankly, I'm scared to use these, their website says they contain wasabi! Although reading the reviews say they don't taste that bad and give you good fresh breath. The don't smell inviting! Might just have to risk it.
RRP: £2.75/12g

Again, bit scared to use these too. Reviews on their website they have a bit of a strange taste, but some one did say they made their teeth look whiter. I'm currently using Pearl drops as my toothpaste and finding my teeth getting increasingly sensitive. Think I might have to take a plunge and just try them!
RRP: £2/12g

This is the one product I really wanted to try in Lush but thought it was a bit pricey. (I know I'm such a Scrooge!) I tried some the other day and seriously the taste, I could just eat it out of the tub. It makes your lips feel so smooth and then you can just lick it off and eat it after! It's great. Will really have to keep this out of the way of the boyfriend as he likes to bite my lip balms and eat them if they taste nice (weirdo!) and he will definitely enjoy eating this one if he finds it, lol!
RRP: £4.95/25g

That's the end of my mini haul and brief review! Let me know if you want anything reviewed in depth.

xoxo.

2) I then set the concealer on the lid up to the brow with Ivory Coast.
3) I used the burgundy colour on the lid, and a bit in the crease, then blended up with the taupey gold colour, using the rest of the burgundy on the brush I swept some under the lash line. I then using the cream I highlighted the inner corner and slightly under the lower lash line. Using the black shade, I deepend the outter corner, brush some onto the upper lash line and under the outer corner of the bottom lash line.

The Versatile Blogger Award

I was nominated for this award from two great bloggers, Claire from Poochy Tails and Amy from Pretty Powerful. Thank you both so much! It's such a great feeling to be nominated an award from both of you!

Rules of the honour:
 1) Thank the person that nominated you with a link back
2) Tell 7 things about you
3)Pass this on to 10 newly discovered blogs and let them know they received the award.

So here are the 7 things about me:

1) It's my birthday in 8 days! Will finally be 18, so excited! :)
2) I have two dogs, Max who is a Shih Tzu x Bichon Frise & Mimi who is a Chinese Crested, I love them both so much.
3) I have a boyfriend called Jake & we've been together other four years now.
4) My job is one of them annoying people giving out samples in a Supermarket. It's not a bad job though, it's great meeting new people.
5) I love a good bargain (who doesn't!) and I'm always looking on eBay looking for something new to try, mostly when I have no money though!
6) My initials are MES, and I'm generally quite a messy & disorganised person, I don't know if coincidence or my parents cursed me from birth!
7) I was about 7 weeks premature (I was supposed to be born in like april) and was diagnosed with Pyloric Stenosis when I was about 6 weeks old, I was lucky to be diagnosed when I was because I was really sick and could have died if it had been left untreated for much longer.

Now for my nominees!

7) The Booky Beauty Lover
8) Miss Little Nail
9) Polish Lava
10) A Fairy Tale Cookery

Nice bit of variety there! Well done on you all having such great blogs!

Feel Unique Box Feb 2012 & Brief Review *UPDATED*

Hello my lovlies! Look what arrived yesterday!
( Don't worry I photoshopped my address out ;) )

I was so excited to open this! I've been waiting since January because I had a bit of trouble with the website and then my order went in too late! So I've had to wait until now but it has been worth it!
I also actually had the will power of not to open it like savage as soon as it arrived and waited until I could take pictures and stuff first (like I have done with lots of things and have then not been able to do such photo friendly blogpost when it came to it!) So proud of myself!

This is it from the outside, you can see the little tab on the right hand side that makes it a little draw.
Totally love this as it makes  it so great for storage!

I was tempted to type this all out but it just basically explains that this box is based around Valentines Day and helping you look / feel luxurious with the samples.

It has the shredded black paper inside, which no doubt I'll be able to reuse!

Here are the products:

No.1)  Decleor Phytopeel Face Peel Cream
"This soft cream formula gently exfoliates & smoothes, whilst elimination impurities. A Perfect at-home peel that adds a healthy glow to lack-lustre skin. Use once or twice a week on face & neck, gently massaging in upward circular motions & allow to dry, Remove excess with a cotton pad."
I squeezed a bit of this product onto my hand and it feels so soft and lovely, the smell reminds me of that balm stuff, Vicks is it? Anyway, can't wait to try it out!
Sample Size= £7.05 for 15ml.
(£23.40 for 50ml found here)

No.2)  Philip Kingsley Maximizer
"This Vogue Beauty Award Winner adds super volume, body, bounce & shine to hair that's fine & lacking life. It also helps prolong the life of colour treatments. Spray onto your roots for lift or throughout lengths before syling for overall volume & control or gently blow dry for maximum volume."
Really nice sized sample. Tried a bit out today and it works so well! Can see why it won an award!
I have very fine hair and it made my hair look so thick, it's great!
However, it is a bit pricey for me, but if first impressions are anything to go buy, I would be tempted to buy it.
Sample size= £5.38 for 60ml
(£11.20 for 125ml found here)

Oil rubbed in
No.3) Nuxe Hulle Prodigleuse OR Multi-Usage Dry Oil Golden Shimmer
"A unique super activated formula to nourish, repair & soften face, body & hair in a single gesture. Thanks to its small golden particles, your skin glitters and reveals its beauty whenever you move. Apply on face, body & hair throughout the year, summer and winter alike for glowing radiance."
This has a very luxurious smell, it's hard to explain really, but I don't really know if I like it. My boyfriend liked it however, and when I poured some on my hand to show him the amazing glitter particles, he swiped it off my hand and rubbed it into his hands instead! (Bit worrying perhaps?) I did test a bit on my hands prior to that and I did notice how moisturised my hand felt. Really pleased! Definitely going to use this on my birthday!
Sample size= £3.80 for 10ml
(£38. for 100ml found here)

No.4) Elemis Lime and Ginger Hand and Body Wash
"This fresh & exotic wash has a beautiful, rejuvenating fragrance with a deep cleansing formula that lathers into a super-rich, delicious formula for all over the body. Leaves your skin feeling fresh, clean, soft and nourished. Use in the shower morning & evening or as a hand wash throughout the day."
This is a great sample size at 100ml, plus I really love the smell of this product, can't wait to use it. The idea of it being a body wash but you can also use it as a hand wash is really clever! Although I'd end up washing my hands every five minutes just to smell it!
Sample size = £6.13 for 100ml
(£18.40 for 300ml found here)

Leighton Denny High Performance Colour in Diamond Diva
"This expert & high performance nail colour is easy to apply, long lasting & chip resistant. The colour won't fade & keeps a high gloss shine day after day. Top tip: For the fastest finish, drip a little 'Miracle Drops' over the polish to speed drying time."
So in love with this colour! I have quite a few silver polishes but nothing quite like this. You can really tell it's high quality when applying as it applies beautifully. This is my first Leighton Denny polish and I can't wait to show it off!
Sample size= £4.21 for 4.6ml
(£11 for 12ml found here)

Also included was a little freebie of the Jean Paul Gaultier Kokorico perfume. I didn't really like the smell but my mum liked it so I gave it to her (even though its a men's one!)
Sample size= £0.46 for 1ml)
£45.90 for 100ml found here)

Overall price of the samples in the box = £27.03
So can't believe that! At it only being £9.95 that's a real bargain!
All in all, I'm definitely pleased with this box, the samples are all something I'd be more than happy to use and try out, and no doubt enjoy! So so happy! :D

Hope you enjoyed this post, I will most definitely keep my subscription with them, can't wait for the next box!
Until next time xoxo

*UPDATED* I got an email yesterday saying that this will be the last box, but they have something else coming up. Pretty disappointed because I was definitely going to carry on with my subscription as I loved this box so much! :( Such a shame really, however I will be looking forward to whatever they have lined up. Looks like I'm going to have to get a subscription for another box for now! RIP Feel Unique Box!
